Washington boys golf took the match 168-184 against their neighbors Washington Catholic yesterday at the Washington Country Club.
Vincennes Rivet squeaked out a close win over Barr Reeve at Cypress Hills yesterday 166-168.
The Lady Hatchet Softball team suffered a tough loss at home last night in a hard-fought battle 9-8 to North Knox. Both teams had 12 hits apiece. Ellie Reed went the distance for Washington striking out six while only walking one.
Karlye Graber threw a two-hit shut-out leading the Barr Reeve Softball team over South Knox 3-0 last night at Barr Reeve.
The Barr Reeve baseball team suffered only their fifth loss of the season losing at home to Shakamak 12-10 yesterday.
Vincennes Lincoln topped Evansville Bosse 9-1.
North Knox baseball topped Wood Memorial 11-1.
The girls tennis sectional draw was held yesterday. Sectional play begins tomorrow across the state. At Vincennes, Washington will open against Vincennes Rivet, while Vincennes Lincoln will take on South Knox. Washington Catholic will face the winner of the first match in the semi-finals.
At Loogootee, Loogootee plays Barr Reeve while Paoli will face NE Dubois.
At Jasper, Pike Central takes on Southridge, while Forest Park meets Jasper.
At Linton, White River Valley plays North Daviess, Bloomfield will play Linton.
The girls track and field sectional is set for tonight with 13 teams competing at Princeton including all four schools in Daviess County. The meet gets underway at 6pm tonight.

Opening Day of Indianapolis 500 practice is today less than two weeks away from the 106th running of the Greatest Spectacle in Racing. Veterans and rookies alike will take to the oval at 16th and Georgetown starting with veterans practice from 9:00 am to 11:15 am. The Rookie Orientation Program will follow from 1:00-3:00 p.m. before open practice takes center stage for three hours to end the day starting at 3 o’clock. Today’s jam packed schedule will be followed by six hours of practice each of the next three weekdays from noon up until 6:00 p.m. The weekend will feature qualifying on Saturday Top 12 and Fast Six qualifications will cap off the week at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday.
