Rainbow Over the Bridge, Knox County’s own Pride festival, will return next month.
Rainbow Over the Bridge will be held from 4-11 p.m. on June 25 on the city’s Riverwalk, hosted once again by members of the Wabash Valley Progressives.
The family-friendly Pride event will feature everything from kids activities to a number of food vendors and live entertainment, too.
“Rainbow over the Bridge shows support for the LGBTQ+ community, and provides a safe place – especially for our youth – to gather among friends and allies,” said co-coordinator Fernando Lozano. “So many people have expressed gratitude for the event, and they’ve told us that they feel accepted and safe.”
This marks the fourth year for Wabash Valley Progressives’ Rainbow over the Bridge. The event will get under way at 4 p.m. with a welcome from coordinators, then live entertainment will begin at 5 p.m. with local band Buck Rogers Clark.
Entertainment continues at 6 p.m. with a drag show featuring Brock Harder, and the Randy’s will round out the evening with a performance set to begin at 9 p.m.
Rainbow over the Bridge’s primary sponsors this year include Insight on the Wabash, Vincennes University and Yonder Spirits, among others.
