The Daviess County Commissioners met on Tuesday for their regular session.
The board first heard updates from the Highway Department. Highway Department Supervisor Chris Winkler reported crews are currently replacing a culvert on Cannelburg Road from 400 North to 300 North. Winkler reported that despite challenges from the weather, the overall project is on schedule.
The board also reviewed a bid for a 2023 dump truck that was taken under advisement and approved plans for bridge work on bridge #155.
In other business, the board agreed to participate in the SIDC’s Land Bank Initiative at $5,000 per year. Land banks take vacant, abandoned, or blighted properties and turn them into new homes or business sights.
The board also approved a preventive maintenance service agreement with Dabra-Kumpel HVAC. The service agreement will allow the company to perform quarterly maintenance on the new air conditioning units they recently installed at the jail.
Finally, the aboard approved an annual service agreement with PayGov for the recorder’s office.
