In less than a week, huge changes are coming for Hoosiers wanting to carry handguns in public.
Indiana House Bill 1296, which was signed by Gov. Eric Holcomb in March takes effect July 1.
This means that anyone over the age of 18, who is not a convicted felon, will be able to carry a handgun openly or concealed.
The police will not be able to ask if you have a license to carry, and they won’t have to go through a criminal background check to do so.
