Daviess County is moving ahead with a plan to switch to vote centers.
The Daviess County Commissioners gave approval to the resolution on Tuesday.
The Council had already approved the resolution earlier this month.
A committee will now be formed to oversee the process and a plan will be sent to the state election division for approval.
Currently, 59 of Indiana’s 92 counties operate under vote centers.
These vote centers will allow each Daviess County resident to vote anywhere in the county.
Officials are looking at several locations and say no resident will have to travel more than 8.5 miles to vote.
County officials have discussed vote centers for some time, but the acquisition of poll books last year has made the process more feasible.
The vote centers will be in place during the next election year.
