Casey White, the inmate who was on the run with jail guard Vicky White back in April, has been charged with felony murder for his role in her death.
Vicky White helped Casey White escape prison. They were on the run for 11 days before they were caught in Evansville. Casey White crashed the getaway car, and Vicky White put a gun to her head and committed suicide, according to the coroner.
The indictment against Casey White says he’s being charged with felony murder because his escape eventually led to Vicky White’s death.
Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly said in a news release Tuesday, “The Felony Murder indictment alleges that during the course of and in furtherance of committing Escape in the First Degree, White caused the death of Vicky White, who died from a gunshot to the head.”
Casey White is also charged with first-degree escape. He also faces a capital murder charge for the killing of Connie Ridgeway in 2015, according to the DA.
