A man from Saint Francisville, IL is facing several drug charges following a Wednesday evening traffic stop. Jasper Police received a complaint about a reckless driver traveling eastbound on 6th Street around 8:30 pm Wednesday.
Officers located the vehicle traveling southbound on US Highway 231.
Officers initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as 39-year-old Jeffrey D. Lazare, of Illinois. After a thorough investigation, Lazare was transported to Memorial Hospital for a chemical test which indicated the presence multiple drugs.
During the arrest, officers found methamphetamine, as well as a glass pipe, a syringe, and 4 legend drugs.
Lazare was transported to the Dubois County Security Center without incident and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, Possession of a Legend Drug, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with Endangerment, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
