With school in Washington beginning in just two weeks, the Washington School Board is continuing preparations.
The Board approved hiring Emily Vaught-Kueller as the junior high art teacher. Other new hires include Jarrod Davis as an I.T. assistant, Linda Taylor as an elementary secretary, Alex Isza as an elementary library aide, Erin Hammon as a bus driver, and Shannon Armstrong as a bus monitor.
The Board also approved the coaching staff for the new school year.
With a shift to grade level buildings, Superintendent Kevin Frank thanked Sodexo and the building and grounds crews for their hard work this summer…
In other business, the Washington Baseball Boosters asked for the Boards’ help in converting unused space in the concession stand building into a locker room for the varsity baseball team. The Board agreed to get estimates on the proposed project.
The next board meeting is scheduled for August 18, but Superintendent Frank says a special meeting might be needed to fill two paraprofessional positions before the beginning of school.
