The Hatchet Boys Tennis team was on the road Saturday and defeated the Central Bears in Evansville by a score of 3-1. Number two singles Jayden Meredith, number three singles Elijah Parsons, and number one doubles duo Ryan Emmick and Alex Myers all won. The remaining two spots of number one singles, Brycen Neidigh and number two doubles, Hayden Tomey (Tommy) and Brian Martinez, both went the distance playing three sets. The lone jv match was won by Austin Clarke.

The Barr-Reeve Tennis team won one and lost one at Evansville North on Saturday going 2-1 in the round robin at the Evansville North Invite.  This takes their overall record to 5-1 on the season.  

In a 4 to 1 loss to  Evansville Memorial the lone Viking win was by #1 Doubles Ethan Stoll & Isaac Madison winning 6-4,

In their 4 to 1 win versus  Gibson Southern winners were #1 Singles Donnie Miller #2 Singles Xavier Meiring #1 Doubles Ethan Stoll & Isaac Madison and #2 Doubles Kyle Graber & Brody Swartzentruber

Congrats to the Hatchet Boys Soccer team as they claimed the Champion Lanes Shootout on Saturday at the Sports Complex.  They defeated Bloomington North in penalty kicks after playing to a 2- all tie.  In the championship game the Hatchets defeated Whiteland 4-1.   

In girls golf The Barr Reeve Lady Vikings finished third and raised their season record to 27 and 12 carding a 377 on Saturday at the Vincennes Rivet Invitational at Cypress Hills golf club.  Evansville Memorial claimed the overall team title and Barr Reeve’s Olivia Emmons finished third individually with a 79 while South Knox’s Trinity Dubbs shot an even par 70 to medal in the event. 

 

The Barr Reeve Middle School Viking soccer teams travelled to Tell City to match up against the Marksmen.

The girls’ game ended in a 5-3 Viking victory with 4 goals from Ella Miller and one by Emma Torres. 

The Middle School Varsity team was defeated in a close contest 2-1 by the Marksmen with their lone goal coming from an assist by Nate Keller to Jacoby Yoder. The JV boys’ team won handily in a 15-0 shutout. 

Wrapping up High school football week one, the Washington Hatchets opened the season with a loss on the road at Southridge 38-7.

North Daviess fell to Tecumseh 49-12

Pike Central lost to Riverton Parke 44-20

North Knox dropped one to Sullivan 31-6

Vincennes Lincoln won their opener shutting out Evansville Bosse 40-0

Jasper opened with a 34-10 win over Evansville Memorial

Indiana’s own Hagerstown representing the Great Lakes Region was able to get the win in their first game of the Little League World Series in Williamsport Pennsylvania sending them to the next round of the United State Bracket. Hagerstown beattled Davenport, Iowa, winners of the Midwest Region and won in dramatic walk off fashion in the 8-7 in a thriller.  The Hagerstown win means they’ll play at 3 p.m Today, on ESPN. Against the Southeast Region representative from Nolensville, TN

The Chicago Cubs came up short against the Milwaukee Brewers in a 5 to 2 final
