We have scheduled one, three week series called Parent’s Night Out. Classes will be held on Monday afternoons from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM at the 4-H Exhibit building, in Washington, IN. Social distancing will be followed. Classes will be held on the following Mondays; April. 11, 18, and 25, 2022, please register by Friday, April 8, 2022. Bryan Engleman, part-time counselor is the instructor and adapts the Active Parenting Program for all classes.
This program is appropriate for all parents/caregivers with children of all ages. Foster parents and grandparents have participated in the programs and found them very informative and helpful. Some comments from parents regarding what they have learned: “I am listening more to my kids and meaning what I say; I try to give them choices and to explain the consequences about a misbehavior; setting different guidelines and new rules; being calmer when my son and I don’t agree or he does something wrong; having more patience with my kids; not arguing back; thinking before saying or answering; say what you mean, mean what you say (my new favorite saying).”
Stem activities for child/ren are available while you attend class in the food court building. Ages K-6th grade. Space is limited. We want to accommodate all parents/caregivers therefore if someone has a disability or needs an interpreter please contact our office and we will make reasonable accommodations.
